Tallin es muy segura para los turistas. La Ciudad Vieja, el centro y todas las principales atracciones son seguros en todo momento. Estonia tiene una de las tasas de criminalidad más bajas de Europa del Este.
2–3 días son perfectos para explorar la Ciudad Vieja medieval (Patrimonio UNESCO), el barrio de Kalamaja, el Palacio Kadriorg, el Museo Kumu de Arte y el paseo marítimo.
Junio–agosto ofrecen días largos, festivales medievales y ambiente animado. La primavera y el otoño son tranquilos y pintorescos. El invierno transforma la Ciudad Vieja en un auténtico cuento de hadas con mercados navideños.
La Ciudad Vieja es completamente caminable. Los tranvías y autobuses conectan los barrios más alejados. El centro histórico es tan compacto que apenas necesitarás transporte público para ver las principales atracciones.
La Ciudad Vieja medieval (Vanalinn) con su plaza del ayuntamiento, la Torre Kiek in de Kök, el barrio hipster de Kalamaja, el Palacio Kadriorg y las vistas desde la colina Toompea son imprescindibles.
Sí, Tallin es perfecta como base. Desde allí puedes hacer excursiones a los parques nacionales de Lahemaa (80 km), la isla de Saaremaa y, cruzando el Báltico, a Riga o Helsinki en ferri.
