Bakú es generalmente segura para los turistas. El casco antiguo, el paseo marítimo y las principales atracciones son seguros en todo momento. Azerbaiyán es un país estable y el gobierno promueve activamente el turismo.
2–3 días son suficientes para ver la Ciudad Amurallada (Patrimonio UNESCO), el paseo marítimo del Caspio, la Torre de la Doncella, el Palacio de los Shirvanshah, los modernos edificios de las Torres Llama y el barrio de Icheri Sheher.
Marzo–mayo y septiembre–noviembre ofrecen temperaturas agradables (15–25°C). El verano (junio–agosto) puede ser muy caluroso. El invierno es suave comparado con otras ciudades de la región.
La mayoría de los visitantes pueden obtener un visado electrónico (ASAN Visa) en línea antes de llegar. El proceso es sencillo y rápido. Algunos países tienen acceso sin visado. Verifica los requisitos según tu pasaporte en el portal oficial azerbaiyano.
La Ciudad Amurallada de Icheri Sheher (Patrimonio UNESCO), la Torre de la Doncella, el Palacio de los Shirvanshah, las Torres Llama (rascacielos con forma de llamas), el paseo marítimo del Caspio y el Museo de Alfombras de Azerbaiyán son imprescindibles.
La moneda es el manat azerbaiyano (AZN). En el casco antiguo y mercados locales el efectivo es más común, pero los hoteles, restaurantes modernos y centros comerciales aceptan tarjeta. Hay cajeros automáticos en el centro de la ciudad.
