Helsinki es consistentemente una de las ciudades más seguras del mundo. El centro, el mercado del puerto y todas las principales atracciones son seguros en todo momento. Finlandia tiene uno de los índices de criminalidad más bajos de Europa.

El metro, tranvía y autobús son eficientes y puntuales. El centro es bastante compacto y caminable. Los ferris conectan las islas del archipiélago. Los trenes de Finlandia conectan con Tampere, Turku y otras ciudades.
La Catedral de Helsinki, la Plaza del Senado, el Mercado del Puerto, el barrio de diseño, la sauna pública Löyly, el museo al aire libre Seurasaari y una excursión a la fortaleza de Suomenlinna son imprescindibles.
Helsinki es una ciudad cara, especialmente restaurantes y alojamiento. Sin embargo, los museos, el transporte público y muchos mercados son asequibles. Con planificación previa y reservas anticipadas, puedes disfrutarla con presupuesto moderado.
