Las Vegas Strip es muy segura con una enorme presencia de seguridad privada y policial. Dentro de los hoteles y casinos es muy seguro. Fuera del Strip, especialmente de noche y en zonas alejadas del centro, se recomienda más precaución. No conduzcas bajo los efectos del alcohol.
3–4 días son suficientes para ver los principales casinos del Strip, hacer excursiones al Gran Cañón (2–4 horas en coche), Zion National Park y Valley of Fire. Las Vegas también es una excelente base para explorar el suroeste de EE.UU.
Marzo–mayo y septiembre–noviembre ofrecen temperaturas agradables (18–28°C) perfectas para caminar por el Strip y hacer excursiones. Evita julio–agosto cuando las temperaturas superan los 40°C. El invierno es suave y con menos turistas.
Se necesita tener 21 años cumplidos para jugar en los casinos y consumir alcohol en Las Vegas. Los menores de 21 años pueden entrar a los hoteles y ver los espectáculos, pero no pueden jugar ni beber. Lleva siempre tu pasaporte o DNI como identificación.
El Bellagio con sus fuentes danzantes, el espectáculo de luz Fremont Street Experience, un show de Broadway en los teatros del Strip, el High Roller (noria más alta del mundo), una excursión al Gran Cañón al amanecer y el buffet del Wynn son experiencias imprescindibles.
Sí, el Gran Cañón Sur está a unas 4 horas en coche desde Las Vegas. El Gran Cañón West (con el Skywalk) está a unas 2,5 horas. Hay numerosos tours organizados de un día o día y medio. También hay vuelos en helicóptero sobre el cañón desde Las Vegas.
