Le Strip de Las Vegas est très sûr grâce à une importante présence de sécurité privée et policière. À l'intérieur des hôtels et des casinos, la sécurité est maximale. En dehors du Strip, surtout la nuit et dans les zones éloignées du centre, il est conseillé d'être plus vigilant. Ne conduisez pas sous l'influence de l'alcool.
3–4 jours suffisent pour voir les principaux casinos du Strip, faire des excursions au Grand Canyon (2–4 heures en voiture), au Zion National Park et à Valley of Fire. Las Vegas est aussi une excellente base pour explorer le Sud-Ouest américain.
Mars–mai et septembre–novembre offrent des températures agréables (18–28°C), parfaites pour se promener sur le Strip et faire des excursions. Évitez juillet–août quand les températures dépassent 40°C. L'hiver est doux avec moins de touristes.
Il faut avoir 21 ans révolus pour jouer dans les casinos et consommer de l'alcool à Las Vegas. Les moins de 21 ans peuvent entrer dans les hôtels et assister aux spectacles, mais ne peuvent pas jouer ni boire. Ayez toujours votre passeport ou pièce d'identité sur vous.
Le Bellagio et ses fontaines dansantes, le spectacle lumineux de Fremont Street Experience, un spectacle de Broadway dans les théâtres du Strip, le High Roller (la plus grande grande roue du monde), une excursion au Grand Canyon à l'aube et le buffet du Wynn sont incontournables.
Oui, le Grand Canyon Sud est à environ 4 heures de route de Las Vegas. Le Grand Canyon Ouest (avec le Skywalk) est à environ 2h30. De nombreuses excursions d'une journée ou d'une journée et demie sont disponibles. Des vols en hélicoptère au-dessus du canyon depuis Las Vegas sont également proposés.
