La Strip di Las Vegas è molto sicura con un'enorme presenza di sicurezza privata e polizia. All'interno degli hotel e dei casinò è molto sicuro. Fuori dalla Strip, soprattutto di notte e nelle zone lontane dal centro, si raccomanda maggiore prudenza. Non guidare sotto l'effetto dell'alcol.
3–4 giorni sono sufficienti per vedere i principali casinò della Strip, fare escursioni al Grand Canyon (2–4 ore in auto), allo Zion National Park e alla Valley of Fire. Las Vegas è anche un'ottima base per esplorare il sud-ovest degli USA.
Marzo–maggio e settembre–novembre offrono temperature piacevoli (18–28°C) perfette per passeggiare sulla Strip e fare escursioni. Evita luglio–agosto quando le temperature superano i 40°C. L'inverno è mite e con meno turisti.
Bisogna avere 21 anni compiuti per giocare nei casinò e consumare alcolici a Las Vegas. I minori di 21 anni possono entrare negli hotel e assistere agli spettacoli, ma non possono giocare né bere. Porta sempre con te il passaporto o un documento d'identità.
