Miami es generalmente segura en las zonas turísticas. South Beach, el Design District, Wynwood y Brickell son seguros y muy frecuentados. Evita caminar de noche por zonas desconocidas de Overtown o Liberty City. Usa Uber, no dejes objetos visibles en el coche y ten precaución en playas muy concurridas.
3–4 días son ideales para disfrutar South Beach, el barrio Art Deco, el Design District, Wynwood Walls (arte callejero), Little Havana, el Distrito de Coral Gables y las Everglades (excursión de un día).
Noviembre–abril es la temporada ideal: clima perfecto (22–28°C), poca humedad y sin riesgo de huracanes. La temporada de huracanes es de junio a noviembre. El verano es muy caluroso y húmedo pero con precios más bajos. El invierno es temporada alta con precios elevados.
Sí, los Everglades están a solo 1 hora en coche al oeste de Miami. Puedes hacer un tour de air boat (barco propulsado por hélice) para ver caimanes, manatíes y aves exóticas. Hay excursiones organizadas de medio día y de día completo desde Miami Beach.
South Beach con los edificios Art Deco, el paseo Ocean Drive, Wynwood Walls (murales gigantes), Little Havana (cultura cubana), el Design District, el Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, una excursión a las Everglades y el atardecer desde el barco en la bahía de Biscayne son imprescindibles.
Las playas de Miami son completamente gratuitas y públicas. South Beach, Mid-Beach y North Beach son de acceso libre. Puedes alquilar sombrillas y hamacas por unos 30–40 dólares al día en South Beach. El aparcamiento cerca de las playas puede ser caro (hasta 30 dólares/día en verano).
