Estocolmo es una de las ciudades más seguras de Europa. La criminalidad violenta es muy baja y los turistas pueden moverse con total tranquilidad. Gamla Stan (Ciudad Vieja), el centro y todos los museos son completamente seguros.
3–4 días son ideales para visitar Gamla Stan, el Museo Vasa, el Museo ABBA, el barrio de Södermalm, el Palacio Real y las excursiones al archipiélago de Estocolmo.
Junio–agosto son los mejores meses con días muy largos (hasta 18 horas de luz), festivales y vida al aire libre. La primavera y el otoño también son agradables. El invierno es oscuro y frío pero con mercados navideños encantadores.
El metro (Tunnelbana), famoso por sus estaciones decoradas como galerías de arte, junto con tranvías y autobuses cubre toda la ciudad. El centro histórico de Gamla Stan es pequeño y muy caminable. Los ferries conectan las islas del archipiélago.
El Museo Vasa (barco del siglo XVII increíblemente conservado), Gamla Stan, el Palacio Real, el Museo ABBA, el barrio de Södermalm y una excursión al archipiélago son experiencias imprescindibles.
Estocolmo es cara, especialmente restaurantes y alojamiento. Sin embargo, los museos son muy asequibles (muchos gratuitos los domingos) y los parques son gratuitos. Compra el SL-kort para transporte ilimitado a buen precio.
