Stockholm est l'une des villes les plus sûres d'Europe. La criminalité violente est très faible et les touristes peuvent se déplacer en toute tranquillité. Gamla Stan (Vieille Ville), le centre-ville et tous les musées sont parfaitement sûrs.
3–4 jours sont idéaux pour visiter Gamla Stan, le Musée Vasa, le Musée ABBA, le quartier de Södermalm, le Palais Royal et les excursions dans l'archipel de Stockholm.
Juin–août sont les meilleurs mois avec de très longues journées (jusqu'à 18 heures de lumière), des festivals et la vie en plein air. Le printemps et l'automne sont également agréables. L'hiver est sombre et froid mais propose de charmants marchés de Noël.
Le métro (Tunnelbana), célèbre pour ses stations décorées comme des galeries d'art, ainsi que les tramways et bus couvrent toute la ville. Le centre historique de Gamla Stan est petit et très agréable à pied. Les ferries relient les îles de l'archipel.
Le Musée Vasa (navire du XVIIe siècle incroyablement conservé), Gamla Stan, le Palais Royal, le Musée ABBA, le quartier de Södermalm et une excursion dans l'archipel sont des expériences incontournables.
Stockholm est onéreuse, surtout pour les restaurants et l'hébergement. Cependant, les musées sont très abordables (beaucoup gratuits le dimanche) et les parcs sont gratuits. Achetez le SL-kort pour des transports illimités à bon prix.
