Marrakech es generalmente segura para los turistas. La medina histórica, la Plaza Djemaa el-Fna y los zocos son seguros durante el día. Ten precaución con los guías falsos, los vendedores insistentes y las personas que se ofrecen a llevarte a tiendas. Por la noche, quédate en zonas iluminadas y frecuentadas.
3–4 días son ideales para explorar la medina histórica, la Plaza Djemaa el-Fna, los zocos, el Palacio Bahia, los Jardines de la Menara, el Barrio Judío (Mellah) y los hammams tradicionales. Con más tiempo puedes hacer excursiones al desierto o al Atlas.
Marzo–mayo y septiembre–noviembre ofrecen temperaturas perfectas (18–28°C). El verano (junio–agosto) es muy caluroso (hasta 40°C). El invierno es agradable de día (15–20°C) pero frío por la noche. Ramadán puede afectar los horarios de restaurantes y atracciones.
La medina histórica es mejor explorarla a pie (los coches no pueden entrar en muchos zocos). Los carros de caballos (calesas) son populares para ir desde la medina al barrio Gueliz. Los taxis son baratos pero negocia el precio antes. El transporte de Uber local (Careem) también funciona.
La Plaza Djemaa el-Fna (Patrimonio UNESCO) al atardecer con sus músicos y encantadores de serpientes, los zocos medievales del mercado, el Palacio Bahia, los Jardines de la Menara, los hammams tradicionales y una excursión al desierto de Merzouga son imprescindibles.
Marrakech es una ciudad musulmana y se recomienda vestir con moderación, especialmente en la medina y las mezquitas. Cubre los hombros y las rodillas. En los riads y hoteles modernos puedes vestir más libremente. Los turistas son aceptados con ropa occidental normal, pero el respeto cultural es importante.
