3–4 giorni sono ideali per esplorare la medina storica, la Piazza Djemaa el-Fna, i souk, il Palazzo Bahia, i Giardini della Menara, il Quartiere Ebraico (Mellah) e gli hammam tradizionali. Con più tempo puoi fare escursioni nel deserto o sull'Atlante.
Marzo–maggio e settembre–novembre offrono temperature perfette (18–28°C). L'estate (giugno–agosto) è molto calda (fino a 40°C). L'inverno è piacevole di giorno (15–20°C) ma freddo di notte. Il Ramadan può influire sugli orari di ristoranti e attrazioni.
La medina storica si esplora meglio a piedi (le auto non possono entrare in molti souk). Le carrozze a cavallo (calèche) sono popolari per andare dalla medina al quartiere Guéliz. I taxi sono economici ma negozia il prezzo prima. Careem (Uber locale) funziona anche.
La Piazza Djemaa el-Fna (Patrimonio UNESCO) al tramonto con i suoi musicisti e incantatori di serpenti, i souk medievali del mercato, il Palazzo Bahia, i Giardini della Menara, gli hammam tradizionali e un'escursione nel deserto di Merzouga sono imperdibili.
