Bâle est extrêmement sûre pour les touristes. C'est une ville calme et ordonnée avec une criminalité très faible. La vieille ville, le quartier des musées et toutes les rives du Rhin sont sûrs à tout moment.
1–2 jours suffisent pour voir le centre historique, le Kunstmuseum (l'un des meilleurs au monde), la cathédrale de Bâle, l'Hôtel de Ville rouge et se promener sur les rives du Rhin.
Bâle est mondialement connue pour Art Basel (la plus importante foire d'art contemporain au monde, chaque juin) et pour ses plus de 40 musées. Elle accueille aussi des multinationales pharmaceutiques et possède une architecture contemporaine exceptionnelle.
Le tramway et le bus couvrent toute la ville efficacement. Le centre historique est très agréable à pied. Bâle dispose d'un système de vélos gratuits très populaire. Depuis la gare SBB, des trains directs rejoignent Zurich, Berne ou la France/l'Allemagne.
Le Kunstmuseum Basel (collection permanente exceptionnelle), la cathédrale du Münster, le Rathaus (Hôtel de Ville rouge), la vieille ville, le Musée d'art contemporain et un bain dans le Rhin en été sont incontournables.
Absolument. Bâle et Zurich sont très différentes : Bâle est plus intime, avec une scène culturelle et artistique extraordinaire. Elle n'est qu'à 1 heure de train de Zurich. Parfaite à combiner avec Berne ou comme porte d'entrée vers l'Alsace française.
