Ciudad de México tiene zonas muy seguras y otras que requieren precaución. Los barrios de Polanco, Condesa, Roma y el Centro Histórico son populares y relativamente seguros para turistas. Usa Uber (más seguro que taxis de calle), evita zonas desconocidas de noche y guarda tus pertenencias.
4–5 días son mínimos para esta megaciudad: un día en el Centro Histórico y el Zócalo, uno en Xochimilco y Coyoacán, uno en Teotihuacán (pirámides), uno en los barrios de Polanco y Condesa, y tiempo para los mercados y gastronomía local.
Octubre–mayo es la mejor época con clima seco y agradable (15–25°C). La temporada de lluvias (junio–septiembre) trae chubascos vespertinos diarios. Diciembre y Semana Santa tienen ambiente festivo especial. La contaminación puede ser mayor en noviembre–enero.
El Metro CDMX es económico y eficiente aunque puede ser muy concurrido en horas punta. Uber es la opción más segura y cómoda para los turistas (evita taxis de calle). Los Ecobici (bicicletas) están disponibles en Condesa, Roma y Polanco. Los autobuses turísticos cubren los principales atractivos.
El Zócalo y la Catedral Metropolitana, el Museo Nacional de Antropología, Teotihuacán (las pirámides del Sol y la Luna), el barrio de Coyoacán con el Museo Frida Kahlo, Xochimilco en trajinera y el mercado de La Merced son experiencias imprescindibles.
La comida callejera de Ciudad de México es en general segura si eliges puestos con mucha afluencia de clientes locales (señal de frescura y calidad). Los tacos al pastor, tlayudas y elotes son seguros en la mayoría de puestos concurridos. Bebe agua embotellada y evita hielo de procedencia dudosa.
