Ciudad del Cabo tiene zonas muy seguras y zonas que requieren precaución. El frente costero (Waterfront), Camps Bay, Clifton, el centro histórico y los alrededores de Table Mountain son seguros. Evita los townships sin guía local, no salgas a caminar de noche fuera de zonas turísticas y usa taxis de confianza.
4–5 días son ideales: un día para Table Mountain y el centro, un día para la Península del Cabo (Cabo de Buena Esperanza, pingüinos de Boulders Beach), un día para el Waterfront y el Barrio Bo-Kaap, y tiempo para las playas de Camps Bay y Clifton.
Noviembre–marzo (verano austral) ofrece el mejor clima con temperaturas de 25–30°C y días soleados. Diciembre–febrero es temporada alta. El invierno (mayo–agosto) es fresco y lluvioso pero con menos turistas y paisajes más verdes.
Los taxis por app (Bolt, Uber) son los más seguros y recomendados. El MyCiTi bus cubre el Waterfront, el centro y algunas playas. Alquilar un coche es ideal para la Ruta de los Jardines y la Península del Cabo. Evita los minibuses sin conocer bien la ciudad.
Table Mountain (teleférico o senderismo), la Península del Cabo y Boulders Beach (pingüinos africanos), el Barrio Bo-Kaap (casas de colores), el V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay al atardecer y el Museo de la Isla Robben son experiencias imprescindibles.
