3–5 días son ideales para visitar la Ópera de Sídney, el Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, los Jardines Botánicos, el barrio de Rocks y hacer alguna excursión a las Montañas Azules.
Septiembre–noviembre (primavera austral) y marzo–mayo (otoño austral) ofrecen clima agradable, alrededor de 20–25°C. El verano (diciembre–febrero) es caluroso y animado pero con turistas. El invierno es suave, ideal para caminatas.
El metro (Sydney Metro), trenes, autobuses y ferris cubren toda la ciudad. La Opal Card facilita el pago. Los ferris del Puerto de Sídney son una experiencia en sí mismos con vistas espectaculares. Manly es muy recomendable en ferri.
