Città del Capo ha zone molto sicure e zone che richiedono prudenza. Il lungomare (Waterfront), Camps Bay, Clifton, il centro storico e i dintorni di Table Mountain sono sicuri. Evita i township senza guida locale, non camminare di notte fuori dalle zone turistiche e usa taxi affidabili.
4–5 giorni sono ideali: un giorno per Table Mountain e il centro, un giorno per la Penisola del Capo (Capo di Buona Speranza, pinguini di Boulders Beach), un giorno per il Waterfront e il quartiere Bo-Kaap, e tempo per le spiagge di Camps Bay e Clifton.
